Coinciding with the 1998 All Star Game in Vancouver, the Canucks totally rebranded from their iconic “spaghetti skate” uniforms to these Orca uniforms with new blue and red color palette. The 1997-98 season was also Messier’s first season as a Canuck where he was immediately awarded the captaincy, which was controversially stripped from Vancouver fan favorite Trevor Linden.
