A throwback to the early days of Ottawa Senators hockey and one of the most talked-about prospects of the ‘90s! Selected first overall in the 1993 NHL Draft, Alexandre Daigle arrived with enormous expectations as the potential savior of the new expansion franchise. Daigle put up 51 points as an 18-year-old rookie, but his career never quite matched the hype.

The original Sens’ jerseys said “Ottawa Senators” inside the gold circle (as you can see on this jersey’s crest), but that disappeared in the 1997 season and was replaced with laurel leaves. This was apparently due to backlash from Ottawa’s French population, who were upset that the logo featured the English version of the name as opposed to “Sénateurs d'Ottawa”. Another cool touch are the Roman numerals on the shoulder patches which read “EST. MDCCCXCIV”, meaning Established 1894 which is a nod to the original Ottawa Senators hockey team who started play in 1894.

This gem is complete with vintage authentic Stanley Cup centennial patch as well as a one-year-only red number style that technically carried over to the 1993 preseason which is why Daigle wore this style in a handful of games.
