Hall of Famer Roberto Luongo played just 24 regular season games with the Islanders, and those were all during the 1999-2000 NHL season. This jersey, however, comes from the 1997 preseason, in which Luongo was still a developmental goaltender, not quite ready for NHL action. Luongo was drafted #4 overall by the Islanders in the 1997 draft, and got some preseason action for the Isles in 1997 before going back to the QMJHL to continue to develop.
