Four time All-Star Greg Vaughn is one of the most underrated players of the 90s. Vaughn even finished 4th place in MVP voting in 1998 and again in 1999 at the absolute height of the steroid era. Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, and others are rightfully talked about as the great hitters of the era, but Vaughn seems to always be left out of the conversation. Regardless, you can’t argue with the numbers, and Vaughn was a top tier slugger.

In 1994 the Brewers uniforms underwent a massive rebrand from their iconic ball in mitt logo jerseys to a more “modern” 90s look. While not exactly loved at the time, the short lived mid to late 90s Brewers jerseys have become very sought after for baseball jerseys collectors. This pro cut Russell Athletic jersey is a salesman sample and was just one iteration of the 1994 rebrand before they landed on a very similar product. My hunch is that the lack of contrast between the wordmark logo on the front and the jersey underneath was the reason this style was ultimately canned.
