Condition: Brand new without tags.

The Royals had the distinction (misfortune?) to take on the Mariners for the first Turn Ahead the Clock game in 1998, and the Mariners welcome them back to do it all again on June 30, 2018. While the Mariners went with the same jersey design as they wore back in ‘98, the Royals decided to rewrite history rather than relive it, by creating a whole new futuristic jersey for the follow-up. Again a vest, this time in royal blue, the two-button Majestic Cool Base jersey features metallic gold soutache around the neck and sleeve openings. Back numbers are white/metallic gold in Block. The front logo is also white/gold, but the gold layer is best described as a thick outline that doesn’t quite line up, giving the appearance of a shadow above and below the script. It combines twill and embroidery as part of the effect, and it crowned with…well, a metallic gold on blue crown patch. The Royals updated their caps and helmets to match (the helmet design is particularly inspired) so kudos to them for playing along, and updating a throwback to the future.
