The jersey was originally a Messier, but was stripped and recustomized. Orange ghosting from previous kit apparent on back of fight strap anchor.
When Gretzky retired in 1999, Nike produced a very limited number of commemorative jerseys celebrating the Edmonton Oilers dynasty of the 1980s. Nike Oilers jerseys in general have become extremely difficult to obtain, as Nike never made Oilers jerseys available for retail sale during the Gretzky era, and in my time of collecting I have only ever seen one of these authentic Nike commemorative jerseys hit the market.
