Condition: Well worn. Small hole on shoulder. Several small stains. Jersey is a faded grayish color from age and likely many many washes, but it appears this was once white.

This incredible antique dates back to the mid-1950s in an era when Hall of Famer Bobby Layne led the Lions to three NFL Championships.

This one appears to be a 1954 model as evidence by the lack of sleeve numbers. Tagging is consistent with Lions jerseys of the era, and specifically the Rawlings tag is correct for 1954. It seems the following year the team added sleeve numbers, and those remained through the end of Layne’s time with in Detroit.

Numbers and tagging on this jersey are all original, but game worn provenance associated with this jersey is unclear, which has been factored into the price. Regardless, this piece of history would be an incredible centerpiece for a Lions fan’s collection!
