Before Milan Hejduk became a franchise legend, he was a Czech rookie trying to find his place among a Colorado Avalanche roster loaded with stars like Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg and Patrick Roy. He made himself impossible to overlook, playing all 82 games in 1998-99 and recording 48 points to earn a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team. Hejduk would spend his entire 14-season NHL career in Colorado, eventually winning a Stanley Cup in 2001, a Rocket Richard Trophy in 2003, and serving as team captain in 2011-2012 before having his No. 23 retired by the franchise.
