This jersey features a 1992 Stanley Cup patch sewn to a swatch of red Ultrafil, all over an NHL 75th anniversary patch which is sewn directly to the jersey, exactly as the Hawks wore during the ‘92 Cup Finals. Back then it was common for teams to issue 1 or 2 jersey sets during the regular season, and then another set for the playoffs. Both the Hawks and Pens kept their playoff set for the Cup Finals, but rather than remove the 75th patch, they just covered it with the Stanley Cup patch and ultrafil swatch. In addition to the beautifully chain stitched crest and shoulder patches, the jersey has fully stitched stacked twill numbers and a sewn name on a matching Ultrafil nameplate.

Eddie the Eagle was outstanding the 1992 postseason, posting a 12-4 record and helping Chicago win 11 straight playoff games on its way to facing Mario Lemieux’s Pittsburgh Penguins. Although the Blackhawks ultimately fell short, Belfour had already established himself as one of hockey’s elite goaltenders, winning the Calder and Vezina Trophies the previous season. The future Hall of Famer went on to capture the Stanley Cup with Dallas in 1999 and finish his career with 484 wins.
