For the Carolina Panthers first season in 1995, their regular season uniforms were made by Reebok, but those worn in the preseason (the first ever Carolina Panthers jerseys) were made by Apex One. This jersey features an “Inaugural Season Clemson University” patch which is also specific to the preseason uniforms, as the Panthers played at Clemson’s Memorial stadium in 1995 before their current stadium opened for the 1996 season. The 1995 preseason patch was swapped for a very similar one for the regular season, which just read “Inaugural Season” and ditched the “Clemson University”. 

While the Panthers drafted Kerry Collins as their intended franchise quarterback, Reich was the starter for the first three games until Collins was deemed ready to take the starting job. Reich, a seasoned veteran who backed up Hall of Famer and Bills legend Jim Kelly, threw the first TD in Panthers franchise history to former Bills WR Pete Metzelaars.

There are a handful of these obscure Apex One inaugural season jerseys floating around, but it’s exceedingly rare to find a fully stitched Pro Line authentic version.
