This season, Staal captained the Hurricanes to their first Cup since 2006 and took home the Conn Smythe trophy at 37 years old, the oldest winner in league history after scoring 6 goals in the Cup Finals including at least one goal in each of the first five games of the series, a streak that hadn’t been touched since 1956. This is Stall’s second Stanley Cup victory, and it came 17 years after his first in Pittsburgh which is the longest gap anybody has ever waited.
