No, you’re not going crazy, this is a 1994 World Series jersey (a World Series which never occurred due to the 1994 MLB strike).The 1994 MLB strike halted the Braves’ great start to the season. Maddux and the Braves 68-46 at the time of the stoppage and were trailing the Montreal Expos by six games in the NL East, though they were leading the NL Wild Card race by (2.5) games. The strike ultimately canceled the season and postseason.

In addition to the 1994 World Series patch, this 90s authentic features an MLB 125th Anniversary patch as all teams wore during the ‘94 season.

The Strike occurred right in the middle of the most dominant period in Braves history, and potentially robbed them of a World Series. Greg Maddux was in the middle of his 3rd of 4 straight CY Young Award seasons. At this point, the Braves we’re coming off World Series losses in 1991 and 1992, and a loss in the NLCS in 1993. They were knocking on the door each and every year, but couldn’t get over the hump. Fortunately for Atlanta, the Braves would go on to win the 1995 World Series the very next season. They also got 2 more legitimate shots at the Commissioner’s trophy during this era after winning the 1996 and 1999 NL Pennants.
